Economic Development Foundation Team

Vision - Jefferson County will have comprehensive, strategic economic development with a balanced economy, increased local employment, diversified local tax base, and better quality of life.

The following are the most recent activities:

  • Assisted M. Block and Sons to Jefferson City. M.Block has created jobs for 100+ full time employees.Staff has met with 8 existing industries, 10 small businesses, and provided support to 9 potential entrepreneurs looking to start a new business.
  • Partnered with The Shopping Center Group to identify 3 primary retail trade areas within Jefferson County and develop demographic and marketing materials supporting development of the markets.
  • Added 8 retail properties to selectjefferson.com and provided demographic and retailer contacts to six local real estate developers and agents.
  • BassMasters & various other fishing tournaments and BMX competitions hosted in Jefferson County.
  • Implementing tourist development and byway promotions.
