A recent study by the Schapiro Group, an Atlanta-based strategic consulting firm, surveyed nearly 2,000 consumers nationally revealed that being active in a local chamber of commerce is an effective business strategy as nearly two-thirds of consumers surveyed believe that such companies use good business practices, are reputable, care about their customers and are involved in their community.
It’s no surprise that the Chamber’s message aligns with these attributes— to offer a voice to our business community and enhance the quality of life in our county.
The study further added that consumer perception of chamber members are generally positive in many ways:

The study indicates that chamber membership has very consistent and powerful benefits for small business members— if the consumer knows that the business is affiliated with the local chamber. Members are allowed one (1) set of member mailing labels each year of membership.

Visit the Chamber’s Events Calendar for Chamber and community hosted events. Members are welcome to send their events and news for posting on a variety of media platforms such as the Chamber website, social media, Chamber Newsletter and Chamber Connect.
FREE Advertising in the Chamber Scoop Newsletter and Chamber Connect
The Chamber offers two standing publications that are sent to the membership— the Chamber Newsletter (6 per year) and Chamber Connect (monthly). Advertising in these publication’s is absolutely FREE for Chamber members.
The Chamber will be happy to host a ribbon cutting at your office/place of business and invite the Chamber Board of Directors, Chamber members, city and county officials and the local media. You are welcome to provide refreshments to those in attendance (estimated 15—20). To schedule a ribbon cutting, contact the Chamber office

Having an event or have some great news to share? We would love to know and share it too! Please send the event notice or flyer in .pdf, .jpeg or .png format and we will include it in this monthly publication free of charge.
Provide us with 50 brochures or rack cards to be displayed in the Chamber lobby.
Congratulations! Joining the Chamber is easy and one of the best decisions a business can make. Becoming a member of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce is a sound investment for any business that is looking to grow within their industry and increase exposure to their customer base.
Please complete the application below and return to the Chamber office at your earliest convenience.
Applications for membership should be in writing, on forms provided by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and signed by the applicant. The membership committee shall review all applications and submit them under recommendation for approval to the Board of Directors. Election of members shall be by the Board of Directors at any meeting thereof.
Provisional membership status will be extended to each applicant upon recommendation of approval by the membership committee pending ratificatioin by the Board of Directors at the next scheduled meeting.
Any applicant so elected will become a member upon payment of the regularly scheduled dues.
Chamber membership runs for a full calendar year from the 1st day of the joining month and will be effective for 12-months from said date.
